Human Factors

Human Factors is a multidisciplinary field that combines engineering analysis with the study of how human performance can be influenced by cognitive, perceptual, spatial, temporal, and other human tendencies. This is applicable to human behavior in situations such as driver perception/reaction time, slip-trips and falls, and recreational sporting activities. Every accident involves some form of human response and behavior to that specific situation. We examine various aspects of human capabilities such as visibility, attention and memory in accidents, lighting perception, and assessment of perceptual and cognitive performance as part of a comprehensive forensic analysis.
